7-Eleven Gets It

In conjunction with the upcoming Simpsons Movie, 7-Eleven has remodeled a number of its stores to look like Kwik-E-Marts (the convenience store in The Simpsons).

The remodeled locations are listed at http://www.7-eleven.com/kem.asp.

To further blur reality and fiction, the team also collaborated with private-label manufacturers to create products from the show that will go on sale exclusively in all 6,400 domestic stores

This shows that 7-Eleven really gets it.  This is way outside the box for a giant retail chain.  Simpsons fans will love it and flock to the stores.  Everyone else will roll their eyes, smile, and buy their coffee or slushie.  No doubt 7-Eleven will lose a few customers who dislike the Simpsons or find the whole ordeal juvenile, but overall the stunt should garner some great publicity and bring in plenty of new or infrequent customers.
