Installing Remote Desktop for Mac OS X (.hqx and .bin files)

The Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac OS X can be downloaded as a .bin or a .hqx file.  If you are a Firefox user on OS X sans StuffIt (e.g., 10.4 Tiger), you’ll be wondering what to do with those files.  You could download the free StuffIt Expander but they want to email download instructions to you.  Yuck.

It turns out you can download either the .bin or .hqx file with Safari and it will be converted automatically to a .dmg that you can just double-click on.
