This is Derek Hatchard's blog. The general theme around here is "improving experiences" which includes managing technology, user experiences, life hacking, and some business related stuff. Panel at MIX07 – The Perfect Podcast Player

Here are a few notes from Dave Winer’s discussion panel at MIX on how to build the perfect podcast player (somewhat random and scattered):

Sync over the air

Record (and perhaps publish) podcasts

Sharing with friends

Receving recommendations

Multi-speed – e.g., listen at 1.6x

Making comments – send an audio response

In a standalone player, email me the links associated with the audio content

Player needs to have a web server in it

Plenty more was said but that’s all I felt like persisting.  Dave shrugs off the big players and says it’s fine if they don’t get it because someone else can.  But I wonder if podcasting is a big enough area to be more than just added features on the big players’ players.
