This is Derek Hatchard's blog. The general theme around here is "improving experiences" which includes managing technology, user experiences, life hacking, and some business related stuff. Derek has a software development blog at ardentdev.com, is co-founder of the product review site wellrated.com, and runs Crowd Space (a management tool for people, lists, and events).

Who is Derek Hatchard?

My name is Derek Hatchard.  I am a software consultant, author, founder of ChurchRadius.com, and Microsoft Regional Director.  This is my place to write on anything that does not fit on my developer or church software blogs.

If you’ve come here because you read one of my other blogs, you might be wondering why in the world I’ve started yet another blog.  Well, I wanted a place to post about business, tech, Internet, media, and other geek stuff that I don’t think is a complete overlap with the interests of my developer audience.  2signals (www.2signals.com) was supposed to be my place to do that but it did not turn out to be the collaborative discussion-oriented blog it was intended to be.

My first blog was ardentcoder.net which I abandoned when I got an account at weblogs.asp.net.  Both were developer-oriented.  Then I started the Ardent Dev team blog at www.ardentdev.com/blog.  Then I started 2signals.com.  I also recently started a church software blog at http://churchsoftware.wordpress.com.  And now I’m here at DerekHat.com where I plan to stay indefinitely.  I will continue to post hardcore developer stuff at www.ardentdev.com/blog.  So to recap, my active blogs are:

DerekHat.com – tech / web / geek / biz / internet / media

ArdentDev.com – software development, especially .NET-related

ChurchSoftware.wordpress.com – thoughts on church software
